Is this a vacation?

I'm on vacation this week.

Are we going anywhere?  No.

Are we doing anything special?  No.

So, what am I doing?

Well, today I have been working on my office and playing Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook...well, to be honest, I've been doing more playing than working.  Tonight we will probably go out to eat to Howard's.  I can't wait.

Tomorrow I have three doctor's appointments.  Mammogram, check up on my diabetes control and (thank you, LORD) getting my knee checked out.  I have been hobbling around for weeks waiting for this week so I can find out what my problem is.

If the doctor doesn't hurt my knee too much I plan to go to Church 4 Chicks Tuesday night.  We are studying Proverbs.  The worship music and study has been so good.

Wednesday I will do some more work in my office.  I brought some work home and will probably look at that too.  The family will meet at church for dinner and prayer meeting.

Thursday I will be taking my mom to two doctor's appointments.

Friday, I may take my mom to Amicalola Falls that morning and we will eat at the lodge there.  I want to take more pictures.  This will be a good time for mom and I to see the changing leaves and just have fun together.

Well, I think I heard the washing machine beep at me.  I'd better hobble to the laundry room (LOL)!

Sunday Afternoon

My daughter and I went to the "duck pond" on Sunday to feed the ducks and take some pictures for a class she is taking.

This is my first attempt at putting pictures to music.

Ruth Class Outing

Last weekend my Sunday School class decided to drive up to Amicalola Falls.  We met at the church at 8:20 a.m. ready for an adventure.  We climbed into three cars and began to drive down the road around 8:45 a.m.

After a few "ah uhm" pit stops and some wrong turns, we made it to the state park.  We told the guard at the gate that we were there for lunch and he didn't charge us admission to the park.  SWEET!  He even asked if the beautiful ladies in the two cars behind us were part of our group.  YES!  Compliments for our looks--perhaps he could see the Christ who lives within us.

We took some pictures (see below) before we went up to the lodge.

Isn't that a beautiful site?  It was right below the bridge we were on.

We saw this house in the distance and I tried to get as close a shot as I could.  How would you like to live there?

Here are some of the ladies in my Sunday School class.  They are so sweet.  Say hello, Shelvy, Doris and Teresa!

More of the ladies.  They were more interested in looking at the view than looking into my camera...except for Donna.  HEY DONNA!

More friends!  Hello Teresa, Vickie and Norma!

Another beautiful view...

OK.  Now here are some of our group lined up for a picture:  Jan, Linda, Norma, Gay (she's a great teacher), Rebecca (our newest teacher), Donna (funny girl!) and Avas.

Now, the other side lined up and Avas got in with Shelvy, Doris, Vickie and Teresa.

Now, here's one with me in it...Sheryl, Jan, Norma (not paying attention), Gay and Rebecca (looking at something more appealing than the camera).

Isn't this beautiful?  My LORD, You did a great job with creation!

I think I'm going to ask God to give me a Bible study in which I can use the picture below...

Any ideas?

We went to the lodge and had a wonderful buffet meal.  They even gave us all a senior adult discount when some of us were not quite the right age.  Nice people!

After a look in the gift shop, and wishing we could stay at the lodge for a day or two, we all climbed back into our cars and headed back down the mountain.

We stopped at Panoramic Apples and everyone loaded themselves down with some real goodies.  I brought home a scones mix and can't wait to try it out.

We made our way back to the church just as it began to sprinkle rain.  God is so good.

I can't wait for our next Ruth class adventure....

Problems with YAHOO!

Someone has taken over my yahoo account and is sending out emails with links.  I would like to close down that email address but it is linked to this blog.  I may be redoing my blog because of it.
