Freedom

Christians have been set completely free from the condemnation of the law and sin. This is not a freedom we have accomplished on our own. NO! This is a freedom that only Christ has given and we have received by faith.

It's so sad to think that Christians today turn their backs on that freedom and try to find their own version of freedom. We think of freedom as being able to do anything we want. But, this so called freedom only puts us back into the yoke of slavery.

I have a friend who is being tempted b the world. He is thinking it has some freedoms to offer him. This is a trap that is easy for me to get into also. I see the things my flesh desires in the world and I want to go toward it.

It reminds me of a scene in the movie NEMO. Marlin and Dory are deep in the sea and they see a pretty light. It hypnotizes them and carries them along until they are in the trap of a predator. This is what this world has to offer.

In Galatians 5:1, Paul reminds us to stand firm. It takes effort on my part to stay in this place of liberty. It isn't that Jesus pulls it away from us, but we will leave the freedom for what seems like greener pastures. We begin to believe a lie and move away from this freedom. We must stand firm in the TRUTH God gives us.

Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Am I growing in Christ?

This is my question...am I growing in Christ?

I am teaching a Sunday School class. I am facilitating the Esther Bible Study. I am having my quiet time and praying throughout the day. But, am I really growing in Christ?

Please comment on what you do to grow in Christ. I would appreciate your comments. My heart is one that wants to be more and more like our Savior; but, I also want to have an intimate relationship with Him.

From my heart,

Sheryl
